A Lie, is a Lie, is a Lie!!

Stop telling lies to yourself! A lie, is a lie, is a lie!

You wont win if you tell lies to yourself

A lie, is a lie, is a lie!

Ever felt that you were getting nowhere and that you were never going to achieve the life that you dream of??

What lies have you been telling yourself?

Have you sat on many occasion and pondered why you seem to get nowhere in life and others do?

It is likely that you have questioned yourself and  answered yourself on many occasions and never come to a conclusion?

What are the lies that you have been telling yourself?

What lies have you used to sabotage your success and to put a spanner in the works.

The lies we tell ourselves have a direct effect on our sub concious mind.  We sit and complain to our friends, ‘Well its not fair Im not educated’, ‘ my job doesn’t pay me enough’!  ’ Im not pretty enough’,’ I came from a poor family’. ‘ Im big boned’, ‘I walk everyday’!!!  Blah Blah Bladdy Blah!!!!

Stop lying to yourself.

Everyone has the same chances in life  Everyone has issues!  Why do you continue to lie to yourself and put the blame on your environment or your financial situation? There are people much worse off who say nothing  about the fact they have been bought up in a ‘bad environment’.  They just take the resourses they have and make the most of them anyway.

You could be claiming that you don’t have an education. Yet in the UK (where Im writing this from), education is free!!  What about in other countries where education is paid for or even worse non-existant?  You still see people striving to be the best they can with their limited resources! Dont you??

Then why lie to yourself over and over?

You know, the reason you lie to yourself is because you feel guilty.  You know your capable but your want to give yourself a reason why, you have failed so far.

Have you ever had an embarrasing encounter with some one when you have said something along the lines of ‘I dont have the time to work out, I work 40 hours a week’!  (Just as an example).  Then they turn round to you and say ‘oh well I work 60 hours a week night shift, but I fit 1 hour exercise in before I go to bed.  Feel STUPID dont ya!

These are just lies that we tell ourselves to prevent us from making the move.  You could be afraid that if you get over this problem that you may succeed and then where would you be?  You would have to make up a whole new set of lies to feed yourself.

Hope I gave you something to think about.

Till next time

    Hey Tricia,

Love your straight talking – may as well, otherwise that’s a lie too right ! Great post, even when we’re aware of this subtlety it’s up to us to catch ourselves, do some straight talking to ourselves – and it doesn’t hurt to be reminded to do so.

    Hi Janet,

Thanks for the comment. It so funny I wrote this post this week and then had to have the same conversation with my daughter. She is studying for dissertation for a medical degree and was giving me a whole load of excuses as to why she hadn’t started yet! I explained that she was looking for a way out of the hard work.

Happily she agreed and there was no argument as now she is sitting next to me typing away! Like you say sometimes a bit of straight talking never hurts.

You have given us enough food to think over. we may feel ashamed but the truth is that we all tell lies to ourselves. We concoct excuses for everything, for not exercising, not studying, not giving up smoking and what not. The only thing we need to do is to be honest to ourselves and see why we are lying and what we are getting out of it.

Being honest to oneself is the hardest thing to do. We tell all sorts of lies to ourselves to save us from hard work or simply to change ourselves. The greatest mountain lies within us which we need to climb before we take on the outside world.

Very true we all like to lie to ourselves. We think we’ve got away with it aswell and then it comes back to bite us!

When someone writes an article he/she keeps the idea of a user in his/her brain that how
a user can be aware of it. So that’s why this piece of writing is
    amazing. Thanks!
